17th Blog Post; Member guest Events, SOFLO fair & Adulting

It has been a very long time since my last blog post, nearly a month in fact.

I haven't done much since my last blog post, but I have done a few bits;

Friends Golfing Event;

At golf village over the past few weeks we have been hosting a members guest golfing event, which is where the members bring their friends from other country clubs to view the facilities and take part in a golfing tournament. Admirals definitely wanted to impress at this event, as did the members, so golf village was completely flipped and turned into a very beautiful event. They had a breakfast and a raw bar at night, the dinning room got flipped with large mirrors, an ice sculpture and other winter themed decorations. It was again interesting seeing how they interacted with outside companies who brought in the all the equipment such as props. I felt the event went smoothly and the members guest enjoyed it.

Universal;

Throughout the past weeks me and the girls took a road trip to Orlando for the day to go visit universal studios. We did this as Georgia had a friend over from home. The road trip was very smooth with Dearbhla and Georgia driving. I am not allowed to drive over here, (strict instructions from the parents). The day was great, there were short queues, good weather and great food! I am glad we managed to visit Universal as it was my first time and I hope to go back one day to visit all three parks.

Rasheeda's Christmas Party;

Rahseeda had her annual Christmas party throughout January this was at an Irish Bar down Clematis street. It was a great event with good food and many drinks. We socialised with people from other clubs, and heard their experiences as well as signed up to some cultural events with Rasheeda and her husband. These we will be going on in the next couple of months.

SOFLO Fair;

The SOFLO (South Florida) fair was held for a week in January. This is an annual event which is full of rides and deep fried food. Me and a group from work went we got a lift from a local at work and met up with another group there. It was a great event and fair to see, but I would say Hull fair back at home was bigger, which surprised me. I tried a deep fried Oreo for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised, as I thought I would dislike them greatly but they were very pleasant, however I would only stick to one as I can imagine them to get very sickly.

Tax return;

The past week me and the girls have done our tax return forms, we will be spending this money on our road trip up North. I felt very grown up after completing this form - Adulting at it's finest.

VEGAS PREP;

Next week me and the girls head to Vegas. We nearly have everything organised there are just a few little bits left to organise. I have created a powerpoint itinerary of our time there so we really make the most of it.

Kara's Educational Insight Classes;

Over the past two weeks we have attended two workshops with Kara, these I have found very beneficial but I will be writing a separate blog post on them all after they have ended. The first two have been on Leadership and communication.
