14th Blog Post; Ft Lauderdale and Opening Gala, plus the Christmas Spirit

Ft Lauderdale;

On the 27th of November me and Georgia went to Ft Lauderdale. To get to Ft Lauderdale from Palm beach gardens you have to get a Tri Rail, it is only one hour away on the train, but this is a very easy, accessible and cheap form of transport, especially for us with not the most amount of money. We had heard lovely comments about Ft Lauderdale and we were very excited to go and have a look ourselves. We arrived early morning and walked up and down the beach. The day was rather cloudy, but it did not stop us from having fun, I also managed to capture some more footage on my go pro. We stopped at a beach bar and got some food, before we continued to look around the city. After looking down near the beach we went further up in to the city to have a look around the shops. Ft Lauderdale was very lovely for a day trip, but I would also like to spend a night there and explore by taking a water taxi. It was nice to see a different city and have some different scenery around us.

Opening Gala;

The opening gala is held every year at Admirals Cove. It is done for the members as a "welcoming home party", everything included is free for them to show them how much Admirals appreciates their members and them returning. I was cocktailing throughout the event and I enjoyed conversing with new members as well ones that I am familiar with from working in Golf Village. The event was outside the main club house, there were two bands, a wide range of food available, several bars and even a cigar station on offer. The event had a Motown them and this was presented through the bands music choices. It was nice to be working on the other side and being with staff members that I have not been worked with for a while. The whole event went well and as mentioned before it was nice to see how the operations of a different event worked.

Christmas Party;

The works Christmas Party was on the 4th of December, this was a lovely event for all staff that was thrown at a local country club, Frenchmans Creek. It was a interesting experience to go to a different country club and see the layout and how a differing club and fellow competition of Admirals creates and works an event. The night was good fun and it was nice to see all of the staff out of work clothes. I felt extremely christmassy after this event as well which is what I was in need of.
