Lobster Dinner;
Every year Admirals Cove host a lobster dinner in their event space, which is known as harbour view. The event hosted a lobster night for 270 members, which meant they had to also put tables in the upper lounge to make sure they could fit them all in. The event was a lobster themed buffet, with lobster, starters, pasta, dessert and ice cream stations. The members were booked in for a certain time and our jobs throughout the night was to look after our sections and take the members drink orders along with converse and take clear their space. The event started at 7:00 and we left at 10:15. It was an interesting event to work, due to the size and business of the event, but it was enjoyable, because of the people I was working with throughout my section. I was told by the Banquet manager that every year the event becomes busier.
Rehearsal Dinner;
Throughout this week I worked a rehearsal dinner for a couple who live in Admirals Cove. Not only do they live at Admirals Cove, so does both their parents. The rehearsals dinner was Mexican themed. The event was in Golf Village and it was a private party. At the event they had a taco station, ice cream sandwich stand, a Piñata, and a guitarist. The event had a lovely atmosphere and the guests were all very friendly. There were very high expectations for the event due to them all living at the country club, but I felt that we all delivered. I enjoyed working this event especially because it was the first rehearsal dinner I have worked.
Fright Night;
On Saturday night we dressed up and went to fright night, but due to the weather there wasn't a street party. We went to Clematis Street for this event but ended up in Roxy's sue to the weather, we were drenched. That night we also experienced tornado warnings, however the bad weather did not stop our fun. At this event there was a competition for the best costume to win $1000, I do not know who won this money, but there were many great costumes on form. My favourite costumes were the Game of Thrones costumes throughout the night. We all bought Pink Ladies Jackets and went as Pink Ladies.
Day off/Halloween;
On Monday night we went to Walmart this week to buy bikes, we did this due to the amount of money we were spending on Über's throughout our stay in Florida. Our bikes cost us $70, but they have so far been one of the best ideas we have had so far. After buying them we rode back from Walmart and it was so nice to see where we live not sat in a car, we cycled past the high school and a pumpkin patch, it all felt extremely American.
Halloween; we did not go out on Halloween, due to us all working early the morning after and also because we decided to go out on Saturday and Sunday night. Throughout the day we cycled back from doing a food shop and passed the pumpkin patch, we decided to get off and take a look around, it made me feel very festive, as well as seeing the houses decorated.
Guana bana;
On my day off me and Georgia left in the morning to got to the Jupiter lighthouse, however we were 4 minutes too late for the tour and Georgia had work at 3, so we went to GuanaBanas instead for brunch. I have heard several things about this restaurant since living here, and the restaurant was amazing. It was beside a river, and was made from Bamboo, we will definitely be visiting again!! So overall it was another lovely day off! I also face timed my parents and friends today, which was nice to catch up with them all.
