8th Blog Post; House of the Mouse & West Palm

Friday the 13th;

Friday the 13th I was working in Blü all day, however what made this shift much more interesting was the fact I was serving a private party upstairs for a party of 16 people celebrating two women's 60th birthdays. I enjoyed this much more, because of the intimacy with the members, especially because I had served some of them before. They were just ordering off the normal Blü dinner menu, but couldn't sit downstairs due to the largest table available is for 12 people. I was serving this table alongside Joey and Rebecca, so we had a fun shift, that went nice and quick. I hope to work on more parties this size for the whole night if possible.

Disney Day;

We were taken to Disney's Magic Kingdom on Sunday the 15th of October, firstly I was extremely happy to be going then because it's Disney, but secondly because they had their halloween decorations up! I've grown up around Disney and I have been to Paris before, so going to the American one for first time was very exciting. Whilst at Disney I was able to meet up with Fran and Lydia as well who are two of my friends from Northumbria University, which I haven't seen since before December! They both have placements in Disney, so they showed us around the park and helped us get fast passes on some of the rides, which was fabulous! They left us at 2, due to their shifts starting at 3, but it was sooo nice to see them, I am hoping to meet up with them when I have two days off in a row.

We were in the Park up until closing time, which was 7o'clock, we then went over to Disney Springs. The day was such a good day made better with the company. We watched one of the parades, which was the highlight of my day! I managed to get my parents a bauble from the Christmas shop, which I am hoping to post back still in one piece before Christmas as well as some pens. The day was very long getting the coach at 5:45am, and getting home at 1:00am, but it was so worth it, and I am very thankful for Admirals Cove paying for us all to go.

GV has opened;

The 16th was the first day GV has been opened this season! It was only open for lunch, but the custom came. I loved GV, so much more than Blü, the atmosphere of the place the size and even the music. I only shadowed on my first shift, but I felt comfortable doing this. The team at GV are all lovely as they are at Blü! I only have positives of GV and this is only after one shift, I am extremely happy that I am working there as my designated place and I am looking forward for the season to start. My confidence is still growing and I know will grow much more when I know where everything belongs in GV as well. I still need to work on my confidence around member though and not be too shy when asking questions, I aim to work on this in the next two weeks, but I'm sure it will come in time.

West Palm;

The 17th of October we managed to get the day off work. Me and Dearbhla didn't want to waste this day, so we decided to take a stroll down town In West Palm. We have only been here on nights out so seeing in daylight was a nice change! The streets of West Palm very much reminded me of Lisbon, because of all of the street art. We went to a bar and got a drink in the Sun it was lovely relaxing day whilst seeing a new destination. We also found out about a green market that was advertised and we aim to go to this one weekend morning then for breakfast afterwords. I am constantly searching for events on Facebook as well to make the most of my time in Florida, especially in the destination that I live in.

I look forward to the rest of the week in GV and working in Banquets.
